Who we are

BRYC - Barents Regional Youth Council

BRYC was established in 2004 to promote the interests of young people living in the North.

The mission of BRYC is to strengthen the youth cooperation in the Barents Region (Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia), influence regional authorities in questions concerning youths and their future, and work to empower young people to actively participate in the shaping of the Barents Region and the societies in which they live.

BRYC consists of youth representatives from the four member countries of the Barents Region: Norway, Russia, Finland and Sweden. In addition, BRYC has a youth representative for the indigenous peoples of the Barents Region. The youth council currently has around 20 members. These youth representatives are elected from local or regional youth councils, or appointed by regional authorities and working groups.

The BRYC members meet several times a year to share news on the youth situation in their home region, discuss important youth issues, and work together on developing new youth initiatives to make a positive impact in the Barents Youth community.
